Health and wellbeing charity, Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP), is delighted to announce the expansion of its community services across the North East, with the acquisition of two new sites in Seaham and Stockton.

This milestone marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter - one that goes beyond safeguarding vital local services. PCP is reimagining these spaces as inclusive, vibrant community hubs for wellbeing, learning, and social connection.

The newly renamed Growth Hub Seaham and Growth Hub Stockton will build on the foundations laid by Shaw Trust, continuing to offer meaningful employment for adults with learning disabilities and autism, while evolving into dynamic, welcoming spaces for the entire community.

“This expansion is about more than growth,” said Carol Gaskarth, PCP Chief Executive. “It’s about protecting what matters most - people, services, and community wellbeing. PCP is proud to welcome new colleagues and look forward to working with residents to shape the future of these sites together.

“We see the garden centres as more than just places to buy plants; they’re spaces for people to connect, learn, and grow together.

“Under our care, the sites will continue to flourish as welcoming hubs for everyone. We’re excited to build on Shaw Trust’s success and explore new opportunities - from community gardening projects and accessible learning opportunities. Our aim is to develop the services while introducing fresh ideas that reflect the needs and hopes of the local community. Watch this space.”

This exciting expansion aligns with PCP’s long-term vision to create accessible, sustainable spaces where people of all ages and abilities can thrive.

Through the Growth Hubs in Seaham and Stockton, PCP will offer a new and evolving programme of co-designed activities, including:

  • Therapeutic horticulture

  • Skills development and work experience

  • Wellbeing workshops

  • Volunteering opportunities

  • Social groups and events

“By investing in these sites, we’re creating new opportunities for connection, empowerment, and innovation. Our focus remains on delivering support that makes a lasting difference in people’s lives.” Carol said.

Growth Hub Seaham and Growth Hub Stockton are open as usual, with offers on Christmas trees and wreaths to get you into the festive spirit.
