On Your Feet Britain

This week we welcome On Your Feet Britain – a national event inspiring you to stand up, #SitLess and #MoveMore.

The campaign is focused on desk-based workers, which many of us have become during the COVID-19 pandemic. Save the date for your diary this week, as On Your Feet Britain takes place on Thursday 29 April.

Staff at Pioneering Care Partnership work across the region, with many working at home in compliance with Government ‘work at home if you can’ guidance. The shift to home working, has seen many of our staff lose out on their commute and general office movement. We have encouraged our team to join in with the campaign and make changes to their day by taking a walk or have a walking meeting. We also encourage them to use their wellbeing time to take part in activities to boost their mental and physical health – whether this be walking their dog, taking part in virtual exercise classes or more.

To join in with million desk workers across the UK, check out On Your Feet Britain’s activities you can take part in alone or as a group (with social distancing or on a virtual platform). The activities are set to inspire you to make small changes to your day by standing up, moving more and improving your overall health, fitness and wellbeing.

The NHS report if you take just one or two minutes out of every hour to stand up and move around, you will boost your health and wellbeing. Get inspired with these small changes to your every day routine, where you can easily add movement…

· Stand during phone calls.

· Stand and take a break from your computer every 30 minutes.

· Use the stairs more.

· Arrange standing or walking meetings.

· Eat your lunch away from your desk.

· Walk when taking a phone call.

· Stand at the back of the room during presentations.

There is still time for you to get involved with Get On Your Feet Britain – you can register your interested with the campaign to receive a variety of resources. The resources are made to let you reflect on small lifestyle changes, that make a big difference over time.
