On Friday 5 September, parents, staff, and service users from Together 21 and Options will be hitting their stride in the Great North 5k, raising vital funds for Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP). The funds raised will be split equally between both services - every step taken helping to power inclusion, independence, and opportunity.
But the race doesn’t stop there. On Sunday 7 September, PCP’s very own Deputy Chief Executive, Liz Fisher, will go the extra mile - 13.1 of them, in fact - by running the Great North Run to champion the same cause.

These services don’t just go the distance, they change lives. Options empowers adults with learning and physical disabilities to lead fulfilling lives through member-led activities that promote independence and social inclusion. Together 21 supports children and young people with Down Syndrome, offering fun, skill-building sessions that foster development, friendships, and a strong support network for families.
Liz Fisher, PCP Deputy Chief Executive said: “This is more than a run, it’s a celebration of inclusion, empowerment, and community.
“Every donation and sponsorship is greatly appreciated and they help us continue supporting children, young people, and adults to thrive."
Whether it’s a sprint or a marathon, every contribution helps PCP keep pace with the growing needs of the community. Donations will directly support tailored learning, inclusive activities, and vital peer support - helping individuals of all ages reach their full potential.
