'Thank you Liz' Deputy Chief Executive completes Great North Run in aid of Options service

In true Bruce Springsteen fashion Liz Fisher, Pioneering Care Partnership Deputy Chief Executive was certainly born to run.

On Sunday 8 September Liz ran the Great North Run in aid of our Options day service, a member-led service for adults with learning and physical disabilities. The Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) has invested in a new extension to the Pioneering Care Centre (PCC) in Newton Aycliffe to give members more space for activities and learning.

A little extra was needed to redevelopment the outdoor space of the new room so Liz decided to run the Great North Run to fundraise for the new outdoor area and their environmental project. Options members are desperate to make the most of the space available to them.

Liz has raised an astonishing £1,435 as of writing and Options members were full of joy and couldn't wait to thank her with a new window display, flowers and individual messages of appreciation (and cake).

Liz said: "I did it! I’ve been blown away by the support I have received for my fundraising campaign to raise money for the Options Environmental Project at PCP. It was a major motivator in getting me around the course.

"Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me and if anyone still wants to donate here is the link. I am sure the group will post updates of their activities and plans as they go forward. Roll on Great North Run 2025!"

Liz smashed it and everybody at PCP are very proud of her incredible achievement, well done Liz!
