The Workplace Health team at health and wellbeing charity, Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP), are pleased to announce the return of their Health and Wellbeing Roadshow. The event is open to all ages who are looking for ways to prioritise their health and wellbeing on Wednesday 23 July, from 11am to 3pm, at Bishop Auckland College.

According to Durham Insights, the Healthy Life Expectancy of both men and women in County Durham, are significantly lower than the rest of the UK. In certain areas of the county, the life expectancy for women is 8.2 years lower than average, and 10.3 years lower for men.

The roadshow is a learning-focused event and aims to help raise awareness and provide important information to those who want to make positive changes to their health and wellbeing. There will be interactive workshops and expert talks from the likes of Wellbeing for Life, ManHealth and more.

Karen Stubbings, Project Lead of Workplace Health at PCP, said: “We will have over 30 organisations attending on the day to provide information on as many health and wellbeing issues as possible.

“Alongside this, we will have eight specialised workshops throughout the event. Workshops range from cancer awareness to looking after your financial wellbeing, and more. Come along on the day and see what we have on offer.”

This event partnership reflects on the budding relationship between PCP and Bishop Auckland College. Bishop Auckland College is currently supporting the renovations taking place at PCP’s healthy living hub, the Pioneering Care Centre, as well as working in partnership with the PCP team to deliver a variety of wellbeing courses.

Shaun Hope, Principle and CEO of Bishop Auckland College: “We love the work PCP do in our region and it very much aligns with our mission of creating positive change through education and learning. Already we have achieved so much from student placements, sharing of resources and training for our staff communities and we are just getting started.

“The future looks even more exciting with our partnership growing further with events, like the Health and Wellbeing Roadshow, and many projects that utilise the expertise in our organisations.”
