Each month we bring you behind the scenes to put the well deserved spotlight on our staff that help us make a difference to communities throughout the North East. This month meet Nenah Thorman, Pool Supervisor!
I’m the Pool Supervisor at the Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP), I will be overseeing the newly extended and refurbished Hydrotherapy Pool. My role involves managing all aspects of the pool, including daily planning, delivery, and coordination of activities. I am also developing and will be implementing a 'Learn to Swim' programme, consisting of guiding and advising customers on the benefits of swimming.
Before joining PCP, I served as the Learn to Swim Coordinator at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre, where I managed the Learn to Swim programme. With a decade of experience as a lifeguard and 16 years as a swimming teacher, I find immense satisfaction in helping individuals reach their personal swimming goals and I am really looking forward to helping develop people's skills in our hydrotherapy pool.
I started PCP in July of this year, and one of my most memorable moments has been witnessing the completion of the brand-new hydrotherapy pool. At PCP, my goal is to foster a supportive and welcoming environment for all community members to enjoy our Hydrotherapy Pool.
Outside of work, I have a passion for dogs and a newfound love for paddle boarding. My small pack, consisting of two Chihuahuas (Pixie and Scrappy) and a French Bulldog (Cherry), love spending time floating on the water, weather permitting of course!
