Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) is proud to announce the launch of a new Men’s Pie Club in Redcar, strengthening its commitment to supporting men’s mental health and wellbeing across the Tees Valley and beyond.

PCP recently facilitated the launch of a new group, taking place at Westfield Farm, in Dormanstown - a community resource and training centre, owned by Beyond Housing.

The club officially opened its doors on Friday 27 March, and saw a number of men come along for an afternoon of connection and 'pie-filled' fun.

Donald Sanderson, Westfield Farm co-ordinator at Beyond Housing, said: "At Westfield Farm, my aim is to get local men together to make new friends, chat about anything that’s on their minds and—best of all—make and enjoy a good pie.

"We identified a need for something for the men of Redcar, and this club gives them a warm, welcoming space to come together.

"It’s all about good company, good conversation and creating a place where everyone feels welcome."

Speaking on the new group, Lea Richardson, Stockton Project Lead at PCP, said: “Throughout 2024 to 2026, PCP have supported the development and delivery of seven Men’s Pie Clubs, supporting 278 local men.

“The development of our new club at Westfield Farm highlights our commitment to ensuring that we are supporting the mental health and wellbeing of men all across the Tees Valley. This new group will take place every two weeks, and is open to all who wish to come along.”

Early feedback from attendees has already been positive. One participant spoke about his love for the concept of Men’s Pie Club – the cooking element of the club immediately appealed to him as he used to work in a kitchen with his brother. He is hoping to attend regularly, and also exploring other opportunities at Westfield Farm, including volunteering in their garden.

The next session will take place on Friday 10 April from 1.30pm to 3.30pm and will continue taking place every fortnight.
