Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) have solidified their commitment to the environment, by successfully achieving the ‘Green’ Investors in the Environment Award.
Investors in the Environment (iiE) is a UK-based environmental accreditation scheme that aims to help organisations track their carbon emissions and environmental impact. By achieving the highest-level of this award, PCP have demonstrated their dedication to making long-lasting changes, benefitting the planet one step at a time.

Sandra Roberts, Governance and Development Manager at PCP, said: “PCP successfully received an overall score of 78%, meaning we were accredited with the highest level of the award possible.
“To achieve this, we have made a number of changes across the organisation, from introducing a ‘Freecycle’ page on our intranet, encouraging staff to pass on items they no longer need, to introducing incentives to encourage cycling and car sharing.
“Earning this award is just the beginning. Our sustainability journey is ongoing, and we are committed to reducing our impact wherever possible.”
Despite achieving this award, PCP are dedicated to continuing the work onwards. PCP’s healthy living hub, the Pioneering Care Centre in Newton Aycliffe, is in a full transition to energy-efficient LED lighting. Alongside this, a sustainable purchasing policy has been implemented to ensure PCP staff are considering the environment with the purchases they make for the organisation.
