Great Aycliffe Town Council Mayor, Ken Robson, has chosen Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP)’s Options service as one of his charities of the year to support.

Options is a co-produced service for adults with learning and physical disabilities and all funds raised by the Mayor and local communities will go towards supporting member’s needs and development.

Options members are hoping to use funds within the Pioneering Care Centre’s Community Garden, which is located just outside of their newly renovated and expanded room. This outdoor space plays an essential role in helping members explore environmental responsibility through immersive nature-based activities.

Linda West, Options Services Coordinator, said: “Each year, the newly appointed Mayor chooses two charities to fundraise for during their term of office. We are honoured to have been chosen as one of his charities, alongside Wishing Well.

“When Ken Robson was Mayor in 2022, he came along to the Pioneering Care Centre, to watch our Options members bury their time capsule, so he has seen first-hand how we support our members to build on their independence and confidence. With this additional funding, we will be able to provide more resources and activities to our members, to enhance their learning and skills even further.”
