From the Great North 5k to the Great North Run, parents, staff, service users, supporters and Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) Deputy Chief Executive, Liz Fisher, went the distance to support PCP’s Together 21 and Options service.

Thanks to their efforts, and the generosity of supporters, an incredible £1,400 was raised that will be split equally between both services, helping to fund inclusive activities, skill-building sessions, and vital peer support.

PCP Deputy Chief Executive, Liz Fisher said: “We’re so proud of everyone who took part and supported us. This total is a testament to the strength of our community and the belief in what we do. Every pound raised helps us keep moving forward.

“Options will be investing in their 'Gather Your Thoughts Garden', a space within the Pioneering Care Centre’s Community Garden, featuring a wildlife pond, plants, herbs, and sensory elements. This mindful area is already a favourite among members, and the additional funding will help enhance its therapeutic benefits, offering a peaceful environment that supports emotional wellbeing, reduces stress, and encourages connection with nature.

“Together 21 will be using the funds to help continue their weekly support groups for the children and their families.

“Every contribution helps PCP keep pace with the growing needs of the community. Every step taken was a stride toward empowerment, inclusion, and opportunity. Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen.”

The fundraising efforts will help Options and Together 21 continue to support as many people as possible, Options empower adults with learning and physical disabilities to lead fulfilling lives through member-led activities that promote independence and social inclusion. And Together 21 supports children and young people with Down Syndrome, offering fun, skill-building sessions that foster development, friendships, and a strong support network for families – the funds will make a huge difference to both services.

PCP would like to thank everyone who took part, donated, or cheered on the team. Your support means so much and helps us continue making a real difference in the community. Together, we’re creating opportunities, building confidence, and changing lives.
