Lived Experience

Pioneering Care Partnership is working with other partner organisations to support Community Mental Health Transformation for Adults and Older Adults in County Durham.

This partnership aims to change and develop service delivery by giving people more choice and control over their care, helping them live well in their communities.

For successful transformation and service improvement, engaging people with lived experience of mental health difficulties is vital, so their voices can help redesign services.

PCP leads the creation of lived experience structures within the county wide system. We work across the county with voluntary sector partners to bring together a team of lived experience leads for specific local areas.

Our partners:

Durham County Council, UTASS, East Durham Trust

Lived Experience leads are advocates for service users, ensuring that the voice of lived experience makes the changes needed to services.

Each member of the team is keen to connect with individuals with lived experience, those who support individuals with lived experience, and organisations with shared interests within their areas.

We create a safe space where we truly listen to people’s views about accessing services.
