The Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service offers free face-to-face confidential advice, support and practical assistance to anyone who is or has been affected by cancer.
It has a team of dedicated staff and volunteers who have been specially trained to talk through any issues or concerns any individuals may have regarding cancer. In addition to this, the service holds a number of booklets, leaflets, videos and other sources of information about cancer and may also be able to offer other services such as information on self help and support groups or complementary therapies.
The service, which was established at the Pioneering Care Centre in 2008, also offers outreach support services across County Durham.
